Art Courses, Art Workshops and Creative
Weekends catering for small groups or individuals,
are offered at Schaefers’ Halt.
Art lessons are conducted in the Waenhuis
Studio beside a dam, in the barn Afdak or
in the open air under the shade of willow
A short Art Course
in a chosen medium, 3 hours for an individual,
would be a pleasant and productive adjunct
to a fishing weekend. This could be an
introduction to a particular medium or
an extension of various techniques. Art
Materials can be arranged at a small fee
Art Workshops, from
4 hours for a group, could be just the
right relaxing activity needed for a Corporate
Art Week Ends on Saturdays
and Sunday morning, 8.5 hours (including
Saturday lunch and all teas) might be
a wonderful bonding opportunity for a
small group and a good way to find a preferred
We offer life drawing, portraiture, landscape
painting and botanical art using a variety
of media e.g. watercolour, graphics, pastels
and mixed media.
Art Material and Equipment
Art materials should be provided by candidates
(unless special arrangements have been made)
and a detailed list will be sent to you.
Art making for the beginner can be stressful,
especially if one is put on the spot, so
we try to make the whole experience pleasurable
and fun, in fact, an experience that one
would like to repeat!

courses will be conducted by Sharon Schaefer,
a trained Art teacher, who has a Fine Arts
degree specialising in sculpture. She has
many years experience in teaching. Her art
interests range from sculpture to botanical
art, painting and life drawing.
